Description
This abbey, dating from the 12th century, is a monastery of Benedictines. Relics offered by Charlemagne were venerated there. The chapel has four domes, an apse and two small apses. There is also a novel porch decorated with diamond -shaped patterns. All crows are embellished with human figures. There is no transept. The wall section where the portal is located is decorated with empty niches. What makes this portal unique is that it is made of wood. You can still see a few ruined walls and the well of the old convent.
