Description
Fénelon is a fascinating example of a Gascon fortress, including buildings and fortifications dating from the 12th to the 16th century, which were developed in the 17th century to offer a comfortable living environment. In addition to its well -preserved defensive system, the site also includes several outbuildings such as stables, cellars, cellar and farm. Some pieces still keep their woodwork dating from the 17th century. Surrounded by a fortified enclosure with towers, the castle has a main building elongated with two sections in corner return. The terrace was added in the 17th century, the towers date from the 15th century, the main facade is from the 16th century, and the part is seems to go back to the 14th century, at least in its lower elements. This place is the birthplace of Fénelon.
