Description
The Bastide de Trie was founded in 1324 and had a carmelier convent outside the walls before the revolution. Today, only the church remains, which has been transformed into a garage, and some carved stones. The church, built around 1450, was backed by a cloister made up of approximately one hundred marble marble capitals, all carved. The convent was burnt down in 1569 by Protestants, then was restored thereafter, but this restoration coincided with the dispersion of the elements of the cloister across France, including to New York where 20 capitals are located. The church, with a single nave, is characteristic of the southern Gothic style, with a vault in warheads on an elongated plane and a five -sided bedside. The external foothills had side chapels around the nave, most of which have disappeared, leaving only one intact.
