Description
In 1832, the Viscount of Marconnay had this chapel built to place his wife's ashes, who died three years ago. He was also buried there in 1833. Subsequently, this place became a family burial, with the last burial which took place in 1869. The viscount also donated the priory to serve as a residence for the priests of Mazeuil, who, in return, were responsible for maintaining the presbytery and celebrating a mass in the chapel every June 29, date of the death of his wife. This rectangular -shaped chapel has a cloister arch to the east and a semicircular vault to the west. It contains a crypt where the burials were placed. The western facade opens with a chambronle door with crossettes, surmounted by a cornice itself overlooked with a cross surrounded by scrolls. Finally, the facade is crowned with a triangular pediment above a frieze.
